Edith Wheeler Memorial Library
                         Monroe, CT

The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library opened their new 32,000 sf facility in January 2007.  The Upper Floor contains the Adult Library, Teens and Staff Offices.  The Children's Library and Community Room are located on the Lower Floor.  The building takes advantage of the sloping site and provides both floors with direct access to the exterior and their individual parking areas.  

A new feature in the Teen Area are the upholstered booths specifically designed to encourage collaborative study.  Other features include the vaulted barrel ceilings supported on dropped beams and  round columns,  large alabaster chandeliers, and inlay carpet patterns with borders that define the various areas wwithin the library.
